This comprehensive course trains participants to become qualified first aiders in the workplace. Over three days, learners gain the skills and knowledge to effectively respond to a wide range of medical emergencies, including injuries, illnesses, and life-threatening situations.

This course meets the HSE requirements for statutory FAW (First Aid at Work) qualification. The course is set across three 6 hour days and is ideally suited to workplaces where a risk assessment has identified the need for staff to possess appropriate first aid skills and knowledge.

What is First Aid at Work?

First aid at work is a 3 day training course that is designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace. The course covers a range of essential first aid skills that are suitable for large workplaces with high hazards such as; construction, manufacturing and healthcare settings. The range of skills included will equip first aiders with the knowledge needed to be able to confidently and quickly to respond to injuries or illness.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use

Managing bleeding, burns, fractures, and shock

Recognising and responding to choking, seizures, and allergic reactions

First aid for respiratory and cardiac emergencies

Legal and workplace responsibilities of a first aider
